NOVA: A Black Repro Ecosystem Hub for Innovation and Action

NOVA is the first-ever Black autonomous national summit and ecosystem hub for practitioners and leaders across Black reproductive health, rights, and justice. It brings together organizers, advocates, birth workers, storytellers, policy strategists, direct service providers, culture workers, and community builders working across our ecosystem.

Built by and for Black practitioners and leaders, Nova creates the conditions for deeper alignment, strategic clarity, and sustained collaboration across organizations and movements.

Purpose

Over the last 30 years, the Black reproductive health, rights, and justice ecosystem has grown in leadership, innovation, and impact. NOVA exists to bring that collective brilliance into cohesion, strengthening shared priorities, fortifying infrastructure, and positioning the Black Repro Ecosystem for sustained strategy and collective action.

NOVA was shaped by Stellarium, a 2024 ecosystem mapping project led by Black Feminist Future, which surfaced a clear need for deeper alignment and shared strategy across our ecosystem amid escalating political hostility.  In response, Nova serves as a center of gravity where practitioners and leaders move from fragmentation to cohesion, and from cohesion to impact.

At NOVA, participants learn from leaders protecting our communities today and build alongside those shaping the future we deserve through shared strategy, creative collaboration, and deep relationship-building that continues beyond the summit.
